Mojang is a Swedish video game developer and publisher best known for its flagship project, Minecraft. Mojang was founded in 2009 by Markus Persson, also known as Notch, and his friends Jakob Porser and Karl Manne. In 2014, Mojang was purchased by Microsoft for $2.5 billion. Mojang has since become part of Microsoft Studios and renamed itself Mojang Studios in 2020.Minecraft is a popular sandbox game that allows players to explore, survive, and create in an endless, procedurally generated world. The game was released in 2011 and has since become one of the best-selling and influential games in history.
