Half-Life: Alyx is Valve's return to the Half-Life universe in virtual reality. This is the story of an impossible fight against the brutal alien race known as the Alliance. The events take place between Half-Life and Half-Life 2.

You play as Alyx Vance, and you are humanity's only chance for salvation. Alliance control over the planet after the incident in Black Mesa only increased: the remaining population was driven into the cities by the invaders. The best earthly scientists remained among the inhabitants - you and your father, Dr. Eli Vance.

As the organizers of the nascent resistance, you continue your underground scientific activities, conducting critical research and creating tools for the few who dare to challenge the Alliance.

Every day you learn more about the enemy, and every day is a search for his vulnerabilities.

VR GAMEPLAY:

Learn to aim through a broken wall or dodge a barnacle and take an incredible shot. Search the shelves for medical supplies or ammo. Hack alien interfaces with a variety of tools. Throw a bottle through the window to distract the enemy. Rip the headcrab out of your face and throw it out the window.

Community-created worlds

The game comes with a set of Source 2 tools for creating new levels, allowing everyone to design new worlds and share them with the community through the Half-Life: Alyx Workshop on Steam. We've updated the Hammer Level Editor with all the tools and components you need to create virtual reality.
