GSC Game World is a Ukrainian company, developer and publisher of video games, which was founded in 1995 by Sergei Grigorovich..Cossacks is a historical real-time strategy series that covers various eras and events of European history, such as the Seven Years' War, the Napoleonic Wars and the American Revolution. The games are distinguished by their realism, scale and detail.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. is a series of post-apocalyptic first-person shooters set in the Exclusion Zone of the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant. The player will have to explore a dangerous world filled with mutants, anomalies and artifacts, survive, fight and complete various tasks. Games are distinguished by their atmosphere, non-linearity and freedom of choice.
In 2012, GSC Game World announced its closure due to financial problems and conflict with the Ukrainian government. However, in 2014 the company resumed its activities and in 2018 announced the development of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl, which will likely be released in early 2024.
